Preston Lacemakers are a friendly group of people who meet to share their enthusiasm and enjoyment in the art and craft of lace, in all its variations. Our group includes young and old and beginners to experienced. Throughout the year we have talks about and workshops in both lace and other craft techniques. We also promote lace through exhibitions and giving demonstrations.

Next Meeting 7 May 2016 - Members' Display and Sales

The next meeting of Preston Lacemakers will take place on Saturday 7 May 2016.  The meeting has no formal content, so please bring along your current project and an example of your work for the members' exhibition.  Jacqui Southworth will be bringing along items for sale, so this will be a good opportunity to buy any equipment, thread etc that you need or just to treat yourself.

If anyone is interested in making lace and would like to attend, this would be a good opportunity to chat to members and see the wide range of lovely projects currently being undertaken by individual members.  If you are interested in coming along and having a try at lace yourself, please contact Carol Fenlon, telephone 01695 728320 or email prestonlacemakers@yahoo.com to ensure that lace equipment is available.

Guild Lace Magazine Article Lace 162 April 2016

The Lace Guild, website www.laceguild.org, produces a quarterly magazine full of interesting news, articles and patterns for lacemakers.  In this month's issue of 'Lace', number 162, there is an interesting article about Preston Lacemakers' 30 birthday celebration.  This is accompanied by a lovely photograph of our members with the 30th anniversary lace bunting, together with three photographs of detailed pieces of beautiful lace.  On the inside front cover, there is also a photograph of the quilt and the silk stole made by the group for previous commemorative events.  Well done Preston Lacemakers.
