Preston Lacemakers are a friendly group of people who meet to share their enthusiasm and enjoyment in the art and craft of lace, in all its variations. Our group includes young and old and beginners to experienced. Throughout the year we have talks about and workshops in both lace and other craft techniques. We also promote lace through exhibitions and giving demonstrations.

Next Meeting 5 November 2011

Our next meeting takes place at Penwortham United Reformed Church Hall on 5 November.  This will be an Open Meeting for members to bring their own lace.  If you are interested in making lace, we would love to see you, so come along.

Lacing Snakes - Harris Museum 27 Oct 2011

Are you between 7 and 12 years of age and would like to make a lace snake?

Members of Preston Lacemakers will be helping children to make snakes in Lace at the 'Lacing Snakes' event for children aged from 7 - 12 years old.  The event will be held at the Harris Museum in Preston on Thursday afternoon, 27 October, from 1.30 to 3.30.  Booking is essential, please phone the museum on 01772 905414 if you are interested.  You can find out more about the Harris Museum by clicking here.

Preston Arts Festival to 16 October

If you have not been already, why not pop into the Minster of St John in Church Street Preston and see the exhibition, part of Preston Arts Festival.  The exhibition includes embroidery, photography and art in addition to Lace.  You may even get the opportunity to have a go at making lace.  Refreshments are available.  You can find more information at www.prestonarts.com/Festival.htm.
